BC Liberal lies: the disection

David Akin’s Saturday column for Sun Media is a must read:  No other way to say it the BC government is fudging its job creation record.

BC’s media chose to ignore reality and went with the BC Liberal lie: “BC’s investment in job creation provides stability”.  For example the Sun’s story claimed weakly that BC’s employment picture remained “steady”.  It hasn’t.

And the future?  Today, CMHC released housing start numbers.  They are particularly bad for BC with a 14% decline in starts month over month, coming on top of declines in September and October.  That says fewer construction jobs coming.

Here’s what the Clark government’s job plan really means:  You can’t trust a single thing they say.

And I’d go further: In the lead up to the election it’ll be tough to trust anything you read or hear in the media.  Think for yourself.

    Ian,

I think it is most telling that Mr. Akin also gently calls out the Lotuslandian proMedia on their stenography (he did this once before, immediately after the Whistler convention also).

    ______
My take, for anybody interested, is here.

There may be many jobs coming into the Northern BC mines. Those jobs are just not for, the BC people.

Christy Clark said. The Chinese miners already here are temporary. Ida Chong contradicted Christy, she is bringing more Chinese to take the BC mining jobs. No use BC people applying for those mining jobs unless, they can speak Chinese Mandarin, in our own English speaking province. Gordon Campbell sold our BC resources to Communist China, way, way back. All China had to do, is send their people to school, to learn 100 English words, to take BC mining jobs.

The Americans own some of the mines in Northern BC. They too are bringing their own miners with them.

The sellout to China began in BC, way back in Campbell’s time in office. He was working for Harper. Campbell and Harper signed sneak deals behind our backs, long ago. One sneak deal they signed was. Harper can force the Enbridge pipeline into BC. Of course now. Harper gave China permission to sue any Canadians, blocking China’s takeover of Canada.

People just don’t seem to remember?? CSIS warned of Communist China’s intrusion into Canada. BC was specifically mentioned because, Campbell was already busy, selling BC out to Communist China. As much as we yelled about it, to all Canadians? Watch out, Harper is a snake in the grass, no-one listened.

Christy lies, deceives, thieves, is corrupt, uses dirty tactics, and dirty politics, just as Campbell did before her. However, Campbell twice lied and cheated to win his elections. With all of the election fraud in Canada now?? No doubt there will be a close eye kept on Christy. She has been caught, in far too many lies to trust her honesty.

The liberals have been made aware of job losses in natural gas services for their entire time in office to no avail. They have made it easier at every turn for out of province service companies working for out of province based producers to do business at every turn, “harmonizing” (which has been a one way street favouring Albertans) regulation on everything from highways to first aid requirements. Preservation of BC jobs hasn’t been a priority so far, so why all the concern now?? One would think that any subsidies to this profitable sector would be tied to employment numbers for generous BC residents and the resident businesses that employ them.

And a good take it is. RossK does a better job than me in describing the story and Akin’s subtle takedown of BC’s media on this story. It’s hard imagining this kind of msm performance in any other province.

    Ian–

And, amazingly, Mr. Akin names names.
