Mirror, mirror who’s the ugliest of them all?

Last week, in a poll completed before the BC Place boondoggle, the Harry Bloy firing and the teacher’s dispute bungling, the results were 45 NDP, 31 Liberal and 14 Conservative.

In a Forum poll released today and completed after the the BC Place boondoggle, the Harry Bloy firing and the teacher’s dispute bungling the results are 47 NDP, 21 Liberal and 21 Conservative.

Bonus! Forum provides a seat projection: 75 NDP, 9 Liberal, 1 Independent.  I’d say the Liberal number is a little high.

Do you think George Abbott might be in China to seek asylum?

Gotta love that bonus percentage! Maybe they will call a snap election and get the pain over with quicker. On another note, perhaps Phil Hockstein’s smear ad re: Adrian Dix may be backfiring and so it should, as they are offensive. Go NDP!

What comes first? The chicken or the egg?
Is it because of polling trends that the Clark Liberals will not deal with HST and Class-Size Composition within the current term (Both big issues shoved off to 2013)?
Or is that avoidance of things they don’t want to do, that the public and courst have ordered them to do, the reason for the polls?

Very good question. I think the answer is hinted at in Smyth’s column this morning – a hint he doesn’t even realize he made. I think the issue is that the government isn’t treating this as a bargaining scenario. It’s treating it as a political scenario and in that case they figure it’s best to create a political problem that they rescue through highly political legislation: the teachers are nasty so we’ll fix the teachers. Thereby reaping kudos.

The problem they don’t recognize is that the public – except for the Liberal core – are fed up with politics in these kind of situations and want a constructive solution to the big issues at the table. I think the public is saying stop the political posturing and start governing in our interests.

I Read Van Dongen letter today leaving the Liberals for the BC Cons, then read this story Mirror Mirror and had a good laugh, see His comment “mirror”
    part of his statement
“Mr. Speaker, I believe the people of BC deserve a government that will look in the mirror and honestly contemplate what it sees in the reflection; a government that people have trust and confidence in; a government that models true accountability for its own actions.Read more: http://www.vancouversun.com/John+Dongen+leaves+Christy+Clark+Liberals+Conservative/6361691/story.html#ixzz1qGrGWVmp
