Missed this. About ten days ago Angus Reid published a poll on corruption in Canada, commissioned by MacLeans.
All the news covered the findings about Quebec. 68% of Quebecers are concerned about corruption in their province, said the poll and that created headlines across the country.
But who came second?
BC of course. 61% of British Columbians expressed concern about corruption here at home, in the land of the BC Liberals. Let’s see… BC Rail, BCLC, unrestricted business donations, gaming out of control, three Solicitor General’s fired, one still under investigation. Did I mention the BC Rail Corruption Trial.
Yep. That number makes sense. Maybe a little low even.
Ian, that is such a drop in the bucket of the corruption here. The only reason the Simpson story has legs is the Media proclaims it, at the behest of their sponsors, the Fibs. I am appalled that the progressive bloggers in BC are allowing this story to divide a solid left. I am sad, and worried that the MSM are going to succeed here. Next thing you know they will name it and tack a -gate on the end and the privatisation and corruption will continue to be swept under the rug. (Or the fishwrap)
Campbell and Hansen’s corruption has to be supported. Those who oppose them lose their jobs. The two honest members of Elections BC, lost their jobs, even though they were bound by law, to make their decisions. They chose to be honest, they did not lie and cover up for Campbell and Hansen. They chose not to sell their souls for an evil deed. We must never trust Elections BC on anything. Campbell, Hansen and the phony BC Liberal party, are beyond redemption. They have not one saving grace, among the lot of them. Campbell doesn’t even have the guts, to have a fall sitting of the BC Legislature. Same as Harper prorogued Parliament. Campbell and Harper, have a very close relationship. Campbell works for Harper, as we have now seen. Canada is rotten to the hilt with corruption. What party would stomp out corruption? I say none.
As a former employee of the Gov’t of BC I as records officer for the Min of Labor identified forget documents, phoney documents and bribery regarding all phases of the medical and saftety supply purchasing and distribution supplying the middle management with millions of dollars of taxpayer money. Upon presentation of the documents to the director I was forcibly thrown from my job office and life by the corrupt Gov’t of BC. They dontinue to tryh to destroy me by advising my prospective employers that I am a danger to their staff if hired, Totally Illegal and no one cares,.
